Terry Pratchett: 1948-2015

Last night Sir Terry Pratchett passed away at age 66, eight years after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. He was an instrumental force in fantasy and took the genre to new heights. With over 70 books written in a 44 year long career, he impacted the lives of many through his ingenious work. His charitable contributions included support for Alzheimer's research and children affected by AIDs. He will be dearly missed by the writing community, his readers, and those who knew him personally.

Sir Terry said it best.

"The whole of life is just like watching a film. Only it's as though you always get in ten minutes after the big picture has started, and no-one will tell you the plot, so you have to work it out all yourself from the clues.”
